My Journey Begins: A Bright Light on the Road

There are moments in life when everything changes in an instant. For me, that moment came not long ago when, like Paul on the road to Damascus, I was stopped in my tracks by a bright light that pierced deeper than my eyes — it reached my heart.

For many years I had lived my life guided by reason, discipline, and professional achievements as a Chartered Accountant. My identity was tied to what I could do and the positions I held. But then, through what looked like weakness — even a season of Bell’s palsy that slowed me down and forced me into hiddenness — God began to strip away the familiar ways I had navigated life.

It was as if He said: “Enough of walking in your own strength. Now walk with Me.”

Just as Paul was blinded so that he could finally see, I too felt that my old vision had to die for new sight to be born. What once defined me no longer held meaning. Instead, God began to whisper of a new assignment: not merely to work for Him, but to walk with Him as a son.

Scripture became alive to me in a fresh way. Acts 9 tells how Paul, after his encounter, was led by the hand into Damascus where he waited, prayed, and received new sight. In the same way, I feel as though I have been led into my own “Damascus” — or perhaps more fittingly, into “Caesarea,” a place of waiting and preparation. Here, God is reshaping my heart, reminding me that His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

I don’t yet have all the answers. Like Abraham leaving without knowing his destination, I too am stepping into the unknown where faith is my only map. But I know this: Jesus interrupted my journey so I could discover His.

This blog will be the space where I share reflections, lessons, Scriptures, and glimpses of what God is doing in this new chapter of my life. My story is not extraordinary — but His light is. And that light still shines into ordinary lives, transforming them, redirecting them, and filling them with eternal purpose.

If you are reading this, perhaps you too are at a crossroads, or longing for breakthrough. My prayer is that as you journey with me, you may encounter the same Jesus who stopped me, turned me around, and set me on a new path.

Scripture Anchor

“As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?’” (Acts 9:3–4, NIV)

A Prayer for the Journey

Lord Jesus,

Thank You that You are still the Light who meets us on the road of life. Thank You for stopping us when we are going the wrong way, and for giving us new sight when our old vision fails. I surrender my past, my present, and my future into Your hands. Lead me into the fullness of the path You have prepared. And for every reader who finds themselves here — may Your light break through their darkness, may Your voice call them by name, and may their hearts be forever changed by Your love.

Amen.
